MACHINE LEARNING IN POWER INDUSTRY

Ural Federal University

The purpose of studying this discipline is to obtain a holistic view of the intelligent systems construction and the machine learning techniques application in solving applied problems of the power industry. The course involves theoretical and experimental research in the machine learning and the applied intelligent systems design, as well as the skills in the presentation, processing and analysis of data in MathWorks Matlab.

The course contains a description of the best practices for integrating machine learning in the modern fuel and energy complex. One of the important components of the course are practical tasks – industry cases that provide the necessary knowledge and skills in the data analysis and machine learning for solving real applied problems. The course covers a wide target audience. Fuel and energy professionals will be able to acquire the necessary digital competencies, and information technology specialists will get a detailed understanding of the machine learning application for solving problems of the fuel and energy complex.

The course is a reemergence of “Artificial intelligence and machine learning in Smart Energy Systems” discipline, developed within the framework Erasmus+ KA2 ESSENCE CBHE ESSENCE project realization at Ural Federal University. The form of massive online open course gives the opportunity to upscale the audience of learners in order to transfer the best EU learning experience and up-to-date knowledge in the related area. The course includes a set of pre-recorded video-lectures, interactive assessment materials, and practical task.
