SMART ENERGY SYSTEMS

Kazan State Power Engineering University

Educational program «Smart Energy System» is relevant to the modern needs of the professional community and modern trends in the field of digitalization in education.
This program includes scientific and technical preparation at the power generation and power transmission. It allows getting an electric power education and professional training for working in various fields of the electric power industry. The teaching staff of the university has experience in teaching students in the field of intellectual energy. The educational base of the university allows you to conduct all the necessary classes, and a number of industrial enterprises have already been identified in the region, where students can consolidate their knowledge in practice.

Skills and competency:

Currently, one of the priorities for the development of global power industry is the creation and using smart energy systems. Not only development sector, but also power sector experience the need for specialists, who can plan, create and use innovation solutions in different situations. Specific of professional master`s activity taking into account the program training «Smart Energy Systems» is the forming of skills and competencies of science researches and power engineering specialists such as the use of specialized software for smart energy system modelling.

At the department, conditions have been created for the creative scientific and technical activities of future masters: participation in research work carried out by the scientists of the department; participation in conferences and competitions of all-Russian and international scales.

Main academic disciplines

  • «Optimizationin SES» and «ICT for SES», developed Hanoi University of Mining and Geology;
  • «Power System Analysis» and «Energy Management System», prepared by Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education;
  • «Economy for SES» – created by Kazan Power Engineering University;
  • «New technologies for electric power production, storage and transmission», developed by Ural Federal University;
  • «MicroGrids, SmartGrids and SuperGrids», created by scientists of Tomsk Polytechnic University;
  • «Digital Technologies for protection and communication», created by Irkutsk National Research Technical University.

As part of the educational program, an internship at partner universities is possible.
Most of educational exercises (design assignments, course projects, research work, and laboratory work, and research, scientific-pedagogical and scientific-production practice) are scientific. Due to this, graduates of the magistracy are prepared for research and teaching works at the university and power industry.
The project allows us to train specialists with new qualities in the field of smart energy systems through the network interaction with partner universities and the dissemination of the best educational programs (modules, disciplines) placed in the public domain, as well as strengthening ties with enterprises and organizations in the energy industry.
