Riga Technical University (RTU)

Riga Technical University (RTU) is the largest technological university and the leading multidisciplinary research institution in the Baltic States – it educates and trains almost 15 thousand students. In the nine faculties of RTU it is possible to obtain high quality education not only in engineering, but also in social sciences and humanities. Study programs implemented by RTU have been positively evaluated by international experts and are officially accredited. Since 2021 master level study programme “Smart Power System” has been offered in English. There is also a possibility to apply for smart energy related programmes such as “Adaptronics”, “Computerised Control of Electrical Technologies”, etc. RTU is constantly developing its infrastructure by constructing a campus on Ķīpsala Island.

Grenoble Institute of Technology (Grenoble INP)

Institut Polytechnique de Grenoble / Grenoble Institute of Technology (Grenoble INP), officially founded in 1900, is the first French engineering university and one of Europe’s leading technology universities. With respect to smart grids, Grenoble INP is particularly involved in research on innovative ICT-based tools for the energy management in the electrical grid, improved coordination between multiple stakeholders, as well as reliability and security of the associated multiple infrastructures. The Grenoble InP – G2Elab (Grenoble Electrical Engineering laboratory) is one of a major laboratories of INPG in energy field. The “Network & Electrical System” Group within INPG – G2Elab is particularly involved in research on the architecture, control and security of the transmission and distribution electrical grids and the devices connected to them (security of power system again terrorist attacks, blackout mitigation strategies, congestion management, power quality, fault isolation, demand side management and smart grids), in cooperation with the main TSO/DSOs and Power companies especially through a former joint research centre GIE-IDEA and actually with Enedis through an industrial chair.

Technical University of Košice (TUKE)

Technical University of Košice (TUKE) was founded in 1952, but its roots must be sought much deeper in the past. The university consists of 9 faculties, specialized in technology and even art.
The research field activity is the key activities at TUKE along with education. In the field of science, technology, art and culture TUKE carries out basic research, applied research and development. For that reason TUKE disposes of Projects Office that provides analysis, assessment and evaluation of EU investment and non-investment development projects and at the same time performs the function of a LEAR. In connection with the LEAR function it coordinates and directs the administration related to preparation, monitoring and solution support of international H2020 projects.
TUKE offers, organizes and provides higher education within the framework of accredited study programs of the first (bachelor study), second (engineer and master study) and third level (postgraduate study).

Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU)

Founded in 1896, Tomsk Polytechnic University is constantly inspired by the integration of research, education, engineering and entrepreneurial activity and aims to contribute to sustainable development of the society.

The University provides training within a wide range of educational programmes designed to meet the requirements of national and international professional organisations. TPU core competencies lie in the area of engineering and applied sciences. TPU is a research university with a solid background in physics, applied engineering, and electronics. Along with this, TPU added nanotechnologies and alternative energy to its research portfolio. The University annual research budget is about $30 million, ranking second among technical and engineering higher schools in the country. Irkutsk National Research Technical University (INRTU)

Irkutsk National Research Technical University (INRTU) is a public university established in 1930 with a community of over 16000 students coming from about 30 countries and over 2000 members of academic and administrative staff. State-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities of the University ensure the high quality of education, research and innovations. Students can make a choice among 185 degree programs in the fields of engineering and technology, humanities, economics and fine arts. The programs are taught both in Russian and English across 10 institutes including the Institute of Power Engineering, offering the range of bachelor, master and PhD programs in the most relevant fields such as smart energy systems, renewable energy, digital power engineering.

Kazan State Power Engineering University (KSPEU)

Kazan State Power Engineering University (KSPEU) is one of three specialized power engineering HEIs in Russia, an educational and research centre of Tatarstan power industry. KSPEU is a basic HEI for training power engineers in Tatarstan Republic. It holds one of the leading positions in educational level, technical equipment and scientific work. KSPEU is comprised of 3 Institutes: Heat and Power Engineering Institute, Electrical Power Engineering Institute and Institute of Economics and Information Technologies. At the moment over 10 000 students and post-graduate students from different regions of Russia and foreign countries study at the University. Pedagogical process and scientific work at the University are carried out by a team of highly qualified teaching staff and researchers. North-Eastern Federal University (NEFU)

North-Eastern Federal University named after M.K. Ammosov (NEFU) is one of the 10 federal universities in the country that are focused on solving geopolitical problems and meeting the staffing needs of large interregional investment projects. The university includes 5 research institutes, 12 institutes, 5 faculties, 3 branches – the Polytechnic Institute in Mirny, the Technical Institute in Neryungri and the Chukotka branch, as well as 2 colleges and 1 lyceum.
