HUMG introduced the ESSENCE Project at The Vietnam Symposium on Advances in Offshore Engineering (VSOE)

On November 1st and 2nd 2018, in Hanoi, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG) participated in The Vietnam Symposium on Advances in Offshore Engineering (VSOE) and introduced ESSENCE project via poster and in a presentation.

The Vietnam Symposium on Advances in Offshore Engineering (VSOE) is organised every two years by the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global) in collaboration with universities and research bodies in Vietnam. VSOE2018 devoted to the topic of “Energy and Geotechnics” that is very close to ESSENCE’s project field of cooperation and development. Minister of Vietnam Natural Resources and Environment, Director General of Vietnam Administration of Seas and Islands; Deputy Director General of Vietnam Petroleum Institute; The ambassador of the Republic of Ireland in Vietnam, managers of energy companies and scientists from over 25 countries attended the event.

Delivered a presentation on “Hanoi University of Mining and Geology, opportunities and challenges to changing approaches to energy and marine engineering”, professor Trieu Hung Truong – Vice Rector of HUMG presented ESSENCE project as an opportunity for HUMG to develop the training program. He had an overview about ESSENCE project, its aims and objectives, partners involved and the involvement of HUMG, expected outcomes as well as benefits of the project for the University. The presentation provoked interest from the audience especially from industrial partners.
