ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR POWER INDUSTRY APPLICATIONS

The educational program “Artificial Intelligence for power industry applications” is aimed at developing competencies for solving applied mathematical problems in the sphere of power industry. A graduate in accordance with the obtained Master’s degree will be able to carry out professional activities in the following fields: application and development of modern software, development and research of mathematical methods and models of the objects, systems, processes and technologies, analysis and development of technical solutions in the power industry. 

The graduate will be in-demand for industrial companies, carrying out their activities in research and development, analytics, industrial automation designing and manufacturing, system engineering and digitalization of Power&Energy sector and other interrelated and multidisciplinary fields. The objects of professional activity of graduates are: mathematical models, methods and science-intensive software designed to analyze and develop solutions for specific domains; power network equipment; wind power plants; solar power plants; technological processes in power networks. 

The program’s singularity is the pronounced practice-oriented character of the learning process. The priority of active teaching methods ensures both the professional competencies and conscious teamwork and leadership skills. When developing the educational program and implementing educational process, the best world practices in mathematical modeling and power industry training were used in compliance with advanced expertise and recognized achievement of Ural Federal University.

The program roots back to the experience, acquired by Ural Federal University from the leading European Universities during implementation of the Erasmus+ KA2 ESSENCE CBHE ESSENCE project, supported by the European Union. The content of the program was developed in close collaboration with EU experts and industrial partners of the university in order to sustain the demand for the graduates at the labor market. Effective transfer of up-to-date knowledge and digital competences is ensured by the application of high-performance computing equipment and modern multimedia, purchased within the framework of ESSENCE project.
